Cookie & Privacy Policy

Last updated: 19 April 2026 · Version 1.04

The Short Version

  • Essential cookies only by default. Sign-in, session, and theme. Always on — you can't use the site without them.
  • Product analytics are opt-in. If you accept, we use Statsig (US) for page events and session replay so we can see how features are used and fix rough edges. Decline and Statsig does not load.
  • No ad pixels, no cross-site trackers. No Google Analytics, no Facebook Pixel, no advertising profiles.
  • Your data is never sold. We use a small list of named sub-processors (see below) and nothing beyond.

Our Philosophy

When Tim Berners-Lee invented the World Wide Web, the vision was a free and open platform for sharing information. Somewhere along the way, the web became dominated by surveillance capitalism—where your attention is the product and your privacy is the price.

We believe in a different approach. Bia Electric collects only the data we need to understand how our product is used and how we can make it better. Nothing more.

What We Collect

Essential Cookies & Storage (Required)

These are strictly necessary for the site to function. Without them, you couldn't stay signed in, keep a theme preference, or record your cookie choice.

Product Analytics & Session Replay (Optional, opt-in)

With your consent via the banner, we enable Statsig (a US-based product-analytics provider) for two things:

  • Web analytics: anonymous page views, which features are used, where people drop off.
  • Session replay: a reconstruction of your interactions with the page (clicks, scrolls, form field focus — text you type is masked) so we can understand and fix confusing UX.

Statsig sets its own first-party cookies and local-storage keys on load. If you decline the banner, we do not load Statsig at all — no cookies, no replays, no events. You can change your mind by clearing your browser storage for this site; the banner will re-prompt.

Why we use it

We're a small team shipping fast. Session replay lets us see a stuck user without asking them to record their screen. Statsig was chosen over Google Analytics because (a) we don't use it for advertising, (b) it doesn't build cross-site profiles, and (c) we control the data retention. Read their privacy policy for the full picture.

TeeMee Chat (paste-room)

TeeMee Chat is the live paste-and-share room at teemee.it and teemeeit.com. Most use is anonymous — no account, no tracking beyond the cookies above, and session content is purged two hours after the last message.

Full terms and sub-processor disclosures specific to TeeMee Chat are at /terms.

AI Invoice Benchmarking (Optional)

Our AI Invoice Analysis feature helps you understand how your pricing compares to the market. This is entirely opt-in—you choose whether to participate.

If You Opt In

We collect limited, anonymised data from your invoices:

  • Job category: e.g., EICR, Consumer Unit, EV Charger
  • Postcode prefix only: e.g., "SW1" or "M1" (never full postcodes)
  • Aggregate values: Materials total, labour total, job total

What We Never Collect

  • • Your business name or details
  • • Customer names or addresses
  • • Specific material descriptions
  • • Invoice numbers or free-text notes
  • • Any information that could identify you or your customers

How We Protect Your Data

  • k-Anonymity: Statistics are only generated when we have 50+ similar data points—preventing any possibility of identification
  • No competitor data:You'll never see individual competitor prices—only statistical aggregates (percentiles, medians)
  • No price suggestions: We show where you sit in the market, but never tell you what to charge

Withdrawal

You can withdraw from benchmarking at any time in your account settings. When you withdraw, your data is removed from future calculations within 24 hours.

What We Don't Do

  • No advertising profiles:We don't build profiles about you for advertising purposes, and we never sell your data.
  • No data brokers: We never sell, rent, or share your data with data brokers or advertising networks.
  • No Google Analytics:We don't use Google Analytics.
  • No Facebook/Meta tracking: No Facebook Pixel, no Meta tracking, no social-media surveillance.
  • No cross-site ad cookies:We don't drop cookies that follow you to other sites for retargeting.

Changes to This Policy

This page is the authoritative copy of the policy and its own version history — the log at the top of the source file records every revision. When we change it we bump the version and the “last updated” date, and for material changes (new sub-processor, new cookie category) we re-prompt the cookie banner so you can re-confirm your choice.
